When should your child see a dentist for the first time? The general answer is by age one, or within six months of their first tooth appearing. Most parents wait longer, often until something hurts. By then the first visit is associated with pain and tears, which sets up dental anxiety for years. What we do at a first visit for a toddler isn't really treatment. It's introduction. The child sits on a parent's lap, we count teeth, show them the mirror, maybe a quick fluoride application if they're cooperative. The whole point is making the chair feel safe. By age five or six, when permanent teeth start coming through, we apply sealants on the chewing surfaces of new molars. These are clear coatings that fill the deep grooves where cavities usually start. Five minutes per tooth, no drilling, no injections. Parents across South Delhi bring their kids to us for first visits, fluoride, sealants and the occasional small filling. We let kids set the pace. Nobody gets pushed into the chair. #KidsDentist #ChildDentalCare #PediatricDentistry #SouthDelhiKids #FamilyDentist
